Aloha all...

I'm in the process of doing a big stored stuff cleanup...taking photos of what I want to remember before throwing most away...so I've taken a break from painting and working on this website. Going through about everything I have stored in boxes and unfinished art projects and materials will take weeks and I want to get it completed before I travel. Last week, I went to Lihue then to Dallas and Gilbert's house/farm. We went to the Waiohai Resort's beach in Po'ipu for a swim. I was surprised at how crowded it was on a Thursday. Many of the people on the beach and by the pools will spend most of their vacations here and miss most of what Kaua'i has to offer visitors. Lucky I live Kaua'i. The lighting wasn't very good for snapshots, but here are a few:

...

Ho'owili Road to Po'ipu Beach.

Here's where we parked.................................................The beach access is strait ahead.

That "UFO" is a football thrown by the guy in blue.

...

...

...

On the way back, we drove into Koloa Town and I was surprised to see an area that had homes and a lot of vegetation all cleared. Apparently, the properties were condemned so a shopping center could be built...public condemnation for a private concern!

...

Waikomo Road in Koloa. For years I had a storage locker off this road.

...

There it is...Koloa Self Storage. During Hurricane Iniki, on 9-11-1992, even my things in storage stayed dry and safe.

...

After we got back to the farm, Dallas took me on a tour pointing out the different tropical trees, flowers and fruit and their names, which I didn't try to remember. I did take some photos of some of the things she pointed out in their jungle farm.

...

Breadfruit...'ulu.

...

......

Banana...mai'a...........................................................Including the flower.

...

Several varities of ti-plants...ki. .....Black ti is in the middle.

...

Starting new ti plants.

...

That halaconia flower was very colorful spotlighted by the sun...my camera missed it.

...

Hawaiian chili peppers.

...

The biggest money-maker tree on the farm...a seedless lime tree...one customer buys all the fruit.

...

This kind of tree produces the tastiest fruit from South America.

...

A more colorful halaconia photo.

...

That's blue bamboo behind the halaconia.

...

Dallas said that the blue bamboo's stems get blue later.

...

The flowers of this kind of banana grow upward instead of hanging down.

...

A bird of paradise flower.

...

......

Two views of a ti patch. Landscapers buy all of the two harvests per year.

...

Something of a mystery is happening to this tree.

...

Look at the load of pink grapefruit on this tree.

...

Red Ginger

...

A closer look.

...

Bamboo being cured...There's a piece of it's inner skin.

...

Can you see all those avocados hanging down on that tree over there?

...

Intense blue flowers on this one.

...

...

How could I forget the name of this plant which is so useful to florists?

...

Meanwhile, back at 15B in Kekaha...

...

I finished the last of those most delicious red cuban bananas from Dallas yesterday.

...

...............

............................................................................Inside 15B where I will be doing my storage-cleaning thing.

...

I haven't taken anymore for-the-webpage photos since the 7th. So, until next time...

Aloha, Art
