Aloha all...
I don't know if you heard about Hurricane Meena, but it managed to avoid a direct hit on Rarotonga and Aitutaki. Not too much damage. (I try to keep up with what's happening in the Pacific so I check the CocoNet Wireless every day).
I'll put up a few photos before I start in with what's going to happen with the Greenbacks. I haven't been going anyplace to take photos because I'm working on this project. I took only two photographs on the 1st...Lani came over to show me the medal and ribbon award she received because one of her drawings was selected to be April in the Kauai Island Urility Coop 2005 calendar...she got a check for $100, too. Congratulations, Lani. (There's more...later).

Now, here are the updates on the Purple Feather Greenbacks:
The owner of the winning Greenback will receive "custody" of one of the pictured Purple Feather People now "in custody" of AlohaRangs of Hawaii (the current sponsor of boomerangart.com. When I travel, AlohaRangs will cover transportation, accommodation, etc. as well as website expenses).

My plan is to auction PF Greenbacks to raise sponsorship monies to be used for the above expenses. The whole project is a different kind of art. I have a lot of flexibility because it's my creation in cyberspace. You can check out what happens here...it's FREE. But, you can also be a sponsor by obtaining a Purple Feather Greenback. (This Purple Feather thing has been around for a while as documented in the Artmails). Each Greenback is an original work of ART...by me. They are worth more than the US$25 tag that I originally put on each of these 50 Greenbacks, but that's only my opinion.
I am able to test my opinion on ebay. (I'm BoomerangArt there, too). I have experimented with ebay, but haven't gotten very much involved...I only "tested the waters."
Next, I'm going to auction PF Greenbacks 21 - 25 in separate ebay auctions. (I'll let you know before). Of course, there will be a link to this website and possibly new explorers of it.
Very few people have experienced cocofiber painted with acrylics on both sides...something different. Unless those explorers explore deeply enough, they will not know about the drawing and the possibility of "taking custody" of an orignal Purple Feather Person Polihale palm frond. (Yes, I'm having fun in my retirement, but this stuff is all real...it may just work).

PF Greenback No. 22...Greedy
...
I am planning to auction PF Greenback No. 22 first..."Greedy." The winner of the "Greedy" auction will have the first chance to see, feel and own one of these original works of cocofiber art. (If, for some reason, this first PF Greenback series takes off as collectors' objects, thus gaining greater value through time, this first winner may want to win the next four Greenback auctions. They will all start at $24.99.
Or course, the "Greedy" winner would not want anyone bidding for the remaining four Greenbacks other than "Greedy" winner's friends. I will probably start the four auctions all at once in separate 3, 5, 7, & 10 day auctions just to see what happens.
I'm using the Aloha of the Purple Feathers for travel and website expenses in order to spread Aloha via boomerangart.com.
I'm going to do some more painting, now. I'll write about the additional ATC factor later.

It's later.

Tashi told me a little about Artist Trading Cards when I first showed her the PF Greenbacks. (I forgot to check out the website she told me).
After I had sent my daughter, Lorilyn, her PF Greenback, she, returned me an email which asked this question:
"...have you ever heard of artist trading cards? John just told me about it today. It's something like baseball trading cards. It's a cool concept, I think."
...
I checked through some links she sent me. Here is a link where you can find out about Artist Trading Cards (ATC)s.
...
"By the way, Dad, have you ever thought about making your PFP lottery tickets the same size as regulation trading cards, so they'd qualify, just in case art trading cards become wildly popular among the general public? It wouldn't be hard to make that change..."
...
Now I have...and now I am. It's not hard to make the change.

PF Greenbacks Nos. 26 & 27.
....
The PF Greenbacks are to finance Kanaloa's Safaris.
...
But, I'm not going to paint all of his head on the PF Greenbacks' fronts...just something like this...maybe:
...
PFP No. 01...Kanaloa
..
..
It's the 14th. I'm finished with PF Greenbacks 26 & 27. I like it so far:

The next Kanaloa PF Greenback (27) up real close. (3-1/2 x 2-1/2 inches).

PF Greenback No.26...Front and Back.
..
PF Greenback No.27...Front and Back.
..
I wonder if I should let the auction winner cut out the ATC-sized Greenback from the fiber. That way they would have the fiber that the Greenback was painted on. I wonder, again, if I should attempt to auction off the two at the same time.
..
Pau....And now to start Greenbacks Nos. 28, 29, and 30.

Here's where I was on the 12th:

I just happened to look at this early today. Does that look like natural weather movement to you???
I didn't think so.

This is interesting, too...the developing path of Hurricane Meena:

Is someone making a sales pitch for weather control?
