I am planning on being here at Polihale for Christmas and will probably get online next time on December 26th. I'll miss being with my family and watching grand daughter Lauren's enjoyment of the celebration. I hope to see plenty of photos and videos of the occasion.
I took these photos on the morning of the 14th when I went out to check the beach in the morning as I usually do:

Later in the day I was up at Cane Top Pavilion looking for the return of the humpback whales. They are late coming to Polihale this year. Tashi saw some off from her house last week, so I've been waiting for their return here. It's amazing watching them when they are having fun offshore. It's also enjoyable watching the large surf pounding the shores. I tried to capture some of that action with this series of photos. Scott MacD and Tony B will appreciate these:

While I'm shooting the wave shots, Greg Miller, a bodysurfer, out of the photo to my right, keeps repeating, "Why aren't you out riding those waves?" Luke on guitar and Mike in the shades.

Christmas Season has started at Polihale. Kapt. Kirk, who always celebrates the occasion, went to Lihue after work and bought two of these Christmas lights and some others that will be displayed later on.
