Well, I ended up taking and putting up more photos than I thought I would. I had planned to spend Labor Day weekend at Polihale, but didn't get out until the 31st afternoon. I watched Hurricane Jimena by satellite (off and on) as it was approaching Big Island (which it missed as anticipated). Check out a changing picture of the this part of the earth. It gives us a quick clue to the up-coming weather. Here's another.

Kiawe seed pods hanging on the female tree. (Female trees don't have the thorns which brings to mind a question concerning the story of the first Kiawe tree in Hawaii. Where was the male tree?)
