Yeah, that's me. When I was finishing Artmail 115 yesterday when I couldn't get online, I found that I hadn't taken that index shot, yet. So, I grabbed my camera and went to the door and took one photo. What it looked like:

....which isn't so hot. But the day was hot and I didn't want to put on a shirt. So, I did some effects on the photo determined to use it anyway. The 'sketch' turned out like this:

!........ I cropped to the center of the face with those eyes for the index page. If I saw that guy in the mirror, I wouldn't recognize him as me.
I was able to get online (dialup) this morning. I tended to some chores, bought some squid poke for snacks while I do this Artmail. Check some snacks out:

It started with an email within the CouchSurfing.com network on July 12. I was able to check his profile in CouchSurfing.
His name is Michel...Mich and he lives in Paris, but is Portuguese and is a 28-year old soccer fan...of F C Porto...European Champions 2003-2004. He asked me to excuse his English (which is fine and has been improving all the time. I won't try French). He had seen and liked what he saw in my website. He wanted some information about Hawaii. He won an around-the-world flight from Paris to Bangkok to Tokyo to Honolulu to Los Angeles then back to Paris. He thought he would have 5 or 6 days. to see Hawaii. "I'll arrive in oahu and want to discover the most in Hawaii," he wrote.
I told Mich, "O'ahu is where Honolulu is. There are almost 1,000,000 people on it. Kaua'i is rural...less than 60,000 live here. Kaua'i is the most beautiful and friendly.
He was able to get his air ticket changed to the maximum ten days in Hawaii. It turns out that he will be arriving the first part of September. When he arrives in Honolulu, he will fly immediately to Kaua'i (Lihue). I will meet him there. He has reserved a rental car for his stay on Kaua'i...at least a week. He plans to take a quick look at O'ahu while he's here, too.
I made a web page for him and couchsurfers to read about couchsurfing with Boomerang Art here.
I told Mich, "Let me know the dates and time. If possible, I will take the bus to the airport and meet you. We can discuss this more via CouchSurfing when you know your Honolulu arrival date and time."
Mich wrote to me about soccer and how it is the national sport of Portugal. "My favourite team, the team of my heart (because I'm Portuguse) it's the team of Porto which win this year the champion's league in Europe, it's the most famous title for a club.
"And the club of my city (because I live in France) it's PSG (Paris Saint Germain), the team of Paris off course!!!"
"In latino's countries soccer is more than a play, all people identify To their team, and it's a great passion. In particular in Portugal, when a Portuguese talk about Portugal, he says: "In Portugal there is 3 f :the first it's Fatima (religious saint), the second it's the Fado (the
sound of a traditional music) and the third is Futebol (soccer!)."
Mich drove to Portugal to visit for a couple of weeks, then back to Paris to pack for his flight. He has also happily found a couch with in Los Angeles. He prepared a CD with photos from Portugal which included this one at the stadium of Porto which he emailed me:
