On the 5th, some people from Polihale were nearby 15B. Jeff (Geoff?) knocked on my door and asked if I had a couple of wrenches he could borrow for a few minutes. He introduced me to Anna B, who was standing next to him...a snowboarder from New Zealand on her way back to New Zealand or where ever. She is a traveler doing her thing very well. She was in Whistler, BC, Canada. She has been spending most of her "visa" time on Kaua'i, Polihale in particular. The reason she is leaving Kaua'i is because her visa expires in less than three weeks.

She had heard about me at Polihale and had seen the 2002 Photo Memories of Polihale People book. She wanted to meet me, but I hadn't been to Polihale often enough. Anyway, she has lived and lives in a lot of places. She knows how to travel and wanted to see some of my Cook Islands "slide shows" (while the guys got that van running). We talked a lot about different places. I mentioned writing a former student who travels mainly in New Zealand with her husband. She had sent me an email describing the New Zealand places they had visited. I used an Internet search engine to see photos and learn more about each of the places mentioned. One of the places that I plan to visit on Kanaloa's Safari in 2005, is Queenstown. I told Anna that I wrote to my former student in an email that I knew one thing for sure..."I'm not going to do that famous bungee jump."

Anna's face lit up and she said "You gotta do it!...It's so unreal and safe! I've done it three times!" Anyway, she checked her email, gave me her address so I could send the copies of these two photos I took:
