Aloha all...
I have painting and Christmas things to do, but I'll start this Artmail by putting up snapshots of the annual Waimea Lights Parade which attracts people from all around the island.

[Notice the respect for the 'aina (land,...food, eating, etc.) shown by Kauaians. There are a lot of people, but a remarkable lack of litter. Kauaians love Kaua'i, that's why.]

I drove past the crowds on into the center of town to buy gasoline. Here are two shots from the service station:

Then I drove to the parking area near the Waimea Pier. I would be able to drive back to Kekaha as soon as the parade passed avoiding traffic. Of course, I tooks some sunset shots:

I started snapping photos in front of the library. Then I walked all the way down the street toward the Waimea River to where the traffic was stopped. Yep...the highway is closed during the parade. I would just snap photos in one direction then the other as I went. This is before the parade begins.
