I was working on my notebook computer until almost noon. I had to stop to go shopping before Foodland closed at 12:30....and would stay closed until Monday morning. About everything is closed on Sundays as that is mainly Church and Family day. I decided that I would also make the afternoon a photo excursion day as it was a gray, windy, rain-threatening day.

When I got into Avarua, I parked my motor bike on the ocean side of the road-divider parkway. I noticed several men walking out into the ocean with their clothes on. I don't know what it was about (maybe checking nets), but here is a photo of the scene and a zoomed one:

Here are a few photos of the road-divider parkway in the middle of town. That's my motor bike on the right. Then, straight across is Tipani Rentals from where I rented the motor bike.

And there is the Cook Islands Trading Company (CITC) where the drumming contest was held back during the Constitution Day Celebration. Then I did a limping jay-walk across the street toward the ANZ Bank building...

...and on to Foodland which is across the street in the next photo, but the main reason for including this one is the mama hen and her chicks living happily in the busiest section of downtown. Met Philina and Daniela (spellings?)...they are German university students from Heidelberg or near there.

Here is what I bought. Notice how the produce is bagged, weighed and priced before going to the check-out counter. I break the baguettes in half before carrying them on the motor bike. I bought a package of spaghetti, too.
