In June of 1985, I set up my Apple //c computer station in this chalet at Tiare Village. The hibiscus hedge was not nearly so high. Tiare Village is now a Dive Hostel. It is located on the Ara Metua not far from the airport.

Nearby, as I was driving on the Ara Metua, I noticed this sculpture.

I turned my motor bike around and took these photos. Later, I found out that the sculptor who carved the stone Millennium Monument does his work here.

Here is another monument...a white elephant kind of monument...on the other side of the island. The controversial, far-from-completion, formerly to have been The Cook Islands Sheraton Resort, now it is labelled the "Vaimaaga Hotel (under construction)"...but, no construction is happening.
