Aloha all...
I have not finished painting the MacDonald of Skye tartan headband, but I'm going to get this Artmail online explaining a change in direction of the future Artmails. For one thing, I'll use the above photo with the introductory voice bubbles of the Artmails and homepage. I won't be putting up so many digital camera images.

Here is some of my "Classmates" background: I joined classmates several years ago in order to read an email from my high school girlfriend and I have since responded to a few emails, but I have not been active in classmates.com...I have not yet filled in my profile page. (I did do an announcement that had this website's URL on it). I have not accepted "friends" requests as I am a poor email exchanger. That is part of the reason for this website...the Artmails! People from my past can find out what I've been doing with my life as time goes by...and I don't have to repeat myself in emails to anyone.
When I renewed my Classmates membership for my second year, I decided that sometime in the future, I would make some webpages welcoming the Classmates members to my boomerangart.com website, but have never started until now. After I get those pages online, I will fill out my Classmates profile. Getting all this done takes time from other projects and chores.
The reason that I am finally getting around to it is a Classmates' email saying someone signed my guest book...find out who. (I didn't know I had one) I checked it out...it was Dan Cole whom I first met as a student in one of my 9th grade science classes at Matilija Junior High School when I started teaching in Ojai, California in 1960.

A few days ago, I received an invitation through Classmates to attend the Nordhoff High School Class of 1969 40th reunion...1969 was half way through my classroom teaching career. I retired from teaching biology at Nordhoff in 1979...after making a decision while on a beach on an island in Asia in 1978 during the summer.
I made a page in this website for CouchSurfers visiting Kaua'i, the CouchLinks page. Since my ankle-break and recovery, I have been thinking about how to begin hosting CouchSurfers again in Kekaha Ha'aheo 15B. Then I got that Classmates email about Dan Cole, it wasn't just as a student that I remembered him during teaching days. Back in the 1980s, I had been talking with him about something that I called "Aloha Party Packages" for Ojai friends to experience my island paradise, Kaua'i. (It might be a good idea, again).
A lot of former students that remember me would not consider me as having been a "typical high school teacher" back then. (Long story...) They might be a little curious about what that teacher ended up doing after he retired in 1979.
I was into beaches and bodysurfing during my biology-teaching days, too...but did not include boomerangs until 1985. Anyway, I plan on making the Classmates welcome page initially summarizing where I live. They will be invited to go to my CouchLinks.page. I will reactivate my CouchSurfer hosting for former students, classmates, etc. who go to couchsurfing.com, join then surf my couch for a Kaua'i visit and vacation. (I'll have to update my CS Profile, too).
It's a time-consuming task to figure out how the above could work out then get it woven into the "tapestry" of my life's senior years and a little history, too, written on to one Artmail page. My thinking is that at my age (76 in July), I don't need to be making a lot of new "CS friends" from all over the world. It makes more sense to me to re-visit with old friends and the former students from "our past lives." We put in a lot of hours in each others' presence...we all learned and memories made (and forgotten?) during those student/teacher days. So, those are the people I would like visiting me and "surfing my couch." Hopefully they would have no more expectations than any other CouchSurfers.
[I'm still working on how I'm going to do this. I put this Artmail online to let anyone who cares know what's up....
I'm going to use the "IITN Crummo Tours subgroup of INTRO-NET" (some former students are "LIFETIME members"...a list that got up to 425 before my Ventura office got burglarized) ...
