We continued driving north on I-5 then turned off the highway before Eugene. We we headed to highway 58 and to Oakridge-Westfir, The Center of Oregon Recreation. What Kim likes about this area is the readily accessible beauty via trails through forests. I the Applegate area, most of the land is private, therefore not readily accessible to hikers.

We stayed in Westfir, hiked some trails and saw Salt Creek Falls.

As you can see in the map, there are plenty of trails for hiking, horses, bicycles and camping. Kim has a project with some property in Oakridge. (More later). We visited her good friend Ron at his place in Westfir.

The Westfir Covered Bridge is the only one with a covered walkway.

We dropped Kim off at her project then Ron drove us up to one of the hot springs.

[I'm going to start posting Kauai April photos in Artmail 150s, then continue later with the March Oregon photos in Artmail 149s. I'll have to be more selective...too many photos, too little time.]
[It turns out there was too little time...Kim has sold that ranch and bought another near Sutherlin. I'll visit her there later on this year. Two months until my Australia Safari...It will be something different with Aloha.]
