Same day in Koke'e, but headed for the Waimea Swinging Bridge.

As Renee started going faster as she neared the end of the Awa'awapuhi trail...and twisted her ankle. We stopped at Koke'e Lodge where she got some ice to arrest the swelling.

.

.

Then we drove on down to Waimea Town and to the Swinging Bridge. The Menehune Ditch is next to it. The stonework, reportedly done by the Menehune, is cut stone unlike any other in ancient Polynesia. They are reading the bronze plaque.

The girls check out the Waimea River....

.

....while David goes on the bridge.

.

Pain and agony...grief and woe.

.

One night at Polihale, Trinidad and Shayla (?) stopped by while the girls were determined to roast marshmallows.

.............

.

Pali stopped by in the morning.

..............................

......"Enough backgammon photos!"

.

Happy campers, still?

.

Well, the water pipe had broken during the night.....NO WATER!... We broke camp and returned to Kekaha. On the way, Renee took a couple of photos of the cane harvest. Notice the mud on the windshield. Jen was quite concerned that the rental car company would charge me more for having to clean such a muddy car.
