Lauren's a lucky little girl...
......
"Yes, it is ALMOST done. All that is left to do is the mosaic in the middle of the floor. I will also lay a small brick porch, but the latter can wait until it cools off a bit. Here's the front. I still need to put glass in that window."
......
"Here's the inside looking towards the back hill. It has a fancy carved magnolia blossom decoration over each window."
......
"This is the opposite wall. in the right hand corner is the drain pipe and water line for the sink."
......
"This is the front door. Photo taken from upper corner to try and get as much in the photo as possible. The square by the door is the light switches."
......
"Now the sink is in.The yellow thing is a step so Lauren can reach the faucet."
......
"And here comes Lauren."
......
"This is the finishing touch on the playhouse...the square indentation I made in the middle of the floor way, way back when I poured the slab. I intended to do a broken-tile mosaic, and I did."

yesterday, Lauren got a book at the library. it was a baby book. Babys First Alphabet or some such. K is for kiss, J is for jump and so on. Gretchen read it to her once along with a bunch of other books they got that day.
that night, as we lay in bed to read before sleepy time. Gretchen asked Lauren to read the (Baby) book. and she did. first she spelled the word b-u-b-b-l-e-s then said "bubbles!" c-l-a-p c-l-a-p "clap clap!" d-a-d-d-y "daddy!"
she went from a to z letter and word perfect. now the book has pictures illustrating what the word is and she was read it once early that same day (and she does have an excellent memory) but ya gotta admit, thats still pretty dang good. i mean, she just turned three at the end of may, so she is just barely out of her twos.
